The 4th “Cosmopolis” International Festival during the summer 2004 it was one of the most important cultural events all over Greece. The record of 60,000 visitors and their flattering comments, the congratulations of all the delegations that participated, on the offered hospitality and the organization, the laughter of thousands of children and – above all – the message of Cosmopolis for the fraternization of all the peoples on earth, proved once more that Cosmopolis is a big hug that can hold ALL OF US!!!!

The countries that joined the festival were:
Germany, India, Kenya, Korea, Russia, Slovenia and Greece (represented by Corfu)

Music Groups brightened the festival:
Uyoga (Κenya)
Rachid Taha (Algeria / France)
Orquesta Aragon (Cuba)
Pandelis Thalassinos (Greece)

Dance Groups created a celebrating atmosphere:
Bhangra (India)
Waza Africa Troupe (Kenya)
Jung JeMan Dance Company (Korea)
Razdolie (Russia)
ASF France Marolt (Slovenia)
Lykio Ellinidon of Corfu (Greece)

Movies were played as well:

«Monsoon Wedding» by Mira Nair
«The Eye» by Danny and Oxide Pang
«The barber of Siberia» by Nikita Mikhalkov
«I got tired killing your lovers» by Nikos Panagiotopoulos

Various Exhibitions Took Place in the Prison of the Castle:
“Greek Shadow Theatre - Figures from light and history" by the Hellenic Literary and Historical Archive. The exhibition unfolded the history of Greek shadow theatre of the last two centuries.
The “Olympic Evidences” was the second exhibition with which the Hellenic Literary and Historical Archive participated in Cosmopolis Festival, bringing the visitors into contact with the history of first Olympic Games (1896) as well as the Olympic Games of 1906.
"Ancient Greek Games" where Giorgos Karatzas and Asimakis Vagias presented a collection of reconstructed ancient Greek games.

The little friends of Cosmopolis went up to the Old Castle where:
They participated in the educational program with creative activities, where they had the chance to come into contact with the culture of the countries that participated in the festival, through a labyrinth of questions, pictures, flavors and fairy tales.
They played folk games of the participating countries.
They watched the play “The marriage of Karagiozis” by the Greek Shadow Theatre Company of Christos Stanisis.
The watched the play “The notes broke out” by the Paper Theatre of Nuremberg.
They participated in the interactive puppet-theatre production “An Immigrant in Tenekedoupoli” by the Cultural Association of Philippi.
They watched the play “Once upon a time...“ with Alkistis Vlachou in narration and Brigitte Fan Lier on the classical guitar.

People got a taste of delicious meals from many countries:
Roasted pork "Schweinebraten" from Germany, "Byriani" from India, "Mucimo", "Chiapati", "Pilao" and goat stew from Kenya, "Pulgogi" from Korea and "Pastitsada" from Corfu.
