After the
great
success of the
6th
edition, Cosmopolis
International Festival earned its place among the most important
cultural events in Greece. Through the presentation of the multiple
cultural elements of the participating countries, more than 70.000
people who visited the festival gained valuable experiences
and
united into its great hug that can hold ALL OF US!!!

Various Exhibitions Took Place in the Prison of the Castle:
"Masks and Cultures". A ritual Mask exhibition by the well
known mask collector Fotis Kangelaris.
"Children of the
World". Photographic exhibit with photographs by
Achilleas Savopoulos, Aspa Zioga and
Nikos Panagiotopoulos.
"Engraving". Engraving exhibition by Jiannis Proios.
"Flame of Art 2006" which featured works by 94 artists
from the region of East Macedonia & Thrace. The project was
supported by the art group "Neapolis".
The little friends of Cosmopolis went up to the Old Castle
where:
They watched the play "Karagiozis And The Haunted Tree" by
the Greek Shadow Theatre of Michalis Hatzakis.
They
played folk games of the participating countries.
They watched the play “The Princess With The Green Tale” by the
Puppet Theatre "Prassin Aloga".
The watched the play "A Story...In The Clouds"
by the Sound Theatre "Ichomythi".
They heard various
folktales by Agnes Stroubouli, Anthi Thanou and Panagiotis
Koulelis.
People got a taste of delicious meals from many countries:
Wiener Schnitzel & Blueberry Tart from Austria,
Pabellon Criollo from
Venezuela, Kiev Cutlets from Ukraine, Beef Steak & Rice Noodles from
Philippines, Moi-Moi and Dodo from Nigeria and Roasted Pork with
Potatoes from Messini.
